Join Ming in Manhattan Chinatown for a walking tour to explore the
unique culture of the biggest Chinatown on the east coast.
Begin
the tour with a
sit-down brunch at New York's best Hong Kong style restaurant for an
authentic dim sum, with waitresses pushing carts filled with steaming
juicy buns and dumplings, taro cakes and sesame balls. We will then tour
beyond the tourist traps to the Chinatown markets, street vendors and
emporiums to find your greatest bargains in NYC. You will find fresh
seafood, exotic produce and hot and spicy condiments at a fraction of
what you would pay in a fancy gourmet market (bring a cooler with you).
An unsurpassed selection
of teas in decorative tins, New York City souvenirs at a third of what
they cost Uptown, kitchen equipment and porcelain selections. Learn to
identify products from behind their exotic packaging while listening to
Ming’s explanation on how to use these unique items.
During our walk, we will
make a stop at the Museum of Chinese in the Americas, housed in a
century-old schoolhouse, sample Asian-flavored ice
cream at the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory. AND end our tour with an
excellent Asian Acupressure Massage for a small fee.
