Brandon's Best
Movie Reviews by Brandon Xing, Age 9

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
Oh, my gosh! I don't know where to begin! These movies are just so good! The spaceships are cool, the droids and Jar Jar are so funny, and all the good guys are such heroes! You have to buy this movie. It should be a law.

Shaolin Wheel of Life
These guys are amazing! Chinese Shaolin monks perform all kinds of martial arts acrobatics, like doing a handstand on their fingertips and being lifted in the air by a bunch of spears! This is a live performance on stage in England. My friend says it's like "Kung Fu Riverdance," but I don't know what that means.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Wow, the fighting in this movie is really amazing! A famous Chinese fighter trains a young girl how to fight, too. But she turns out to be kind of bad, so he has to find her and stop her. It's exciting and funny, and sometimes kind of sad, too. The scenery is great, and I remember some of those places from China.

Shanghai Noon
This is Jackie Chan's funniest movie ever! A Chinese princess is kidnapped and Jackie has to go to America to save her. He meets a cowboy, and they have many adventures. The cowboy is so funny. He thinks he's a hero, but he's not, and he thinks the girls love him, but they don't. Watch for the part where Jackie fights the Indians with just some trees!

Pokemon: The Movie
I've seen all the Pokemon movies and shows, and this one is one of the best! Mewtwo decides he wants to rule the world and challenges
all the great Pokémasters to battle. Ash, Misty and Brock fight Mewtwo with the original Mew and Pikachu (who's my favorite).

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
I went to see this in the movies with my cousin, Ann Lu. She read all the books, but I only read part of the first one. The movie is just like the book, even the scary parts. It's really good.

Star Wars Droids: The Pirates and the Prince
I never knew they made Star Wars cartoons until my Uncle Mike told me. He said I wasn't even born when these were on TV. I think I was born, but just in China. Anyway, this one is great!

Star Wars Ewoks: Haunted Village
This is another Star Wars cartoon, but instead of C3P0 and R2-D2, it has the Ewoks from Return of the Jedi. This is a lot cuter than the Droids cartoon.

Enter the Dragon
Bruce Lee is a great hero in this movie. He's a spy who has to catch this Chinese bad guy by pretending to be bad, too. He fights the bad guy in a room full of mirrors at the end, and that's really cool.

Big Trouble in Little China
This is my Uncle Mike's favorite movie, and I think it's great too! This Chinese ghost kidnaps a beautiful girl, and the hero has to get her back. He has to fight monsters and scary guys who can shoot lightning. But he wins at the end by using good Chinese magic! (Oops, I hope I didn't spoil the ending for you!)
