2009 Tianjin International
Youth & Children's
Culture & Art Festival
Dear Music/Art Director:
You are cordially invited
to attend the 2009 Tianjin International Youth & Children's Culture &
Art Festival. Tianjin is one of the largest industrial port cities of
China.
The festival will take
place July 25 to July 31, 2009.
This event occurs
bi-annually and is sponsored by the Chinese Association for Friendship
with Foreign Countries and the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government. At
the opening ceremony diplomats from the participating countries will
give presentations. This year’s theme is “Peace, friendship and future.”
During the 2006 festival
there were more than 2000 young people gathered, representing over 40
countries. The Festival has become the largest scale event of its kind.
The Organizing Committee of the Festival is inviting youth and
children's performing arts groups from all over the world to participate
in the 2009 Tianjin International Children's Culture & Art Festival.

This event is among the
highest honors any youth or school in the world can earn. Each group is
participating by special invitation only. Participation is based upon
the group’s reputation for excellence. It has become one of the most
prestigious of all youth art festivals, receiving worldwide acclaim.
China Central Television (CCTV4 & CCTV 9), as well as other major media
throughout China will arrange for full coverage of the Festival.
The Chinese Cultural
Exchange has been entrusted by the Tianjin International Youth and
Children’s Culture and Arts Festival organizing committee to bring one
youth and children’s performing arts group from America to represent the
United States. We are honored to extend this invitation to your group.
Along with the Festival,
your group will visit Beijing, capital of China and travel to Jinan,
capital of Shangdong province where they will perform for the local
people. You will then visit Qufu, Confucius birthplace and climb Mount
Tai, a Taoist holy mountain,
If your group is
interested, please read the following terms and requirements:

The number of
performers is unlimited.

The duration of a
group’s program shall be from 20 to 30 minutes.

The ages of the
performers shall be 10-18 years of age.

The entourage of
the performing group is not limited.

The applicants
should provide the following material: 1) DVD/CD of the scheduled programs; 2) Introductions of the group and the conductor; 3) 3 photos of the conductor and 3 stage pictures.

Each participating group should bring with them the CD or tape cassette
of their own National Anthem, 2 National Flags, and a
little special gift. (Groups from Macao, Hong Kong, and Taiwan could
bring their District Flags or their Team Flags.)
