Terms & Conditions

Program Cost:  Total program cost is $1,995.  A $500 per person deposit is required to secure your reservation.  Final payment will be due 90 days before departure. Program cost is based on current exchange rate and subject to change due to foreign currency fluctuation.

 

Cost of Program Does Not Include:  International roundtrip airfare not listed in the “Included Features” section; passport and visa application fee, personal items and expenses, excess baggage; additional beverages with dinner or at any other time not mentioned as included.

 

Passport and Visa:  A valid passport for at least six months after the date of return is required.  We can apply for the Chinese visa on behalf of tour participants. (Chinese visa application fee $180.00)

 

Cancellation Policy:  Chinese Cultural Exchange, LLC (CCE) must strictly adhere to its cancellation policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of the tour, which may include, but are not limited to: advance payments to land operators, communication expenses; development/promotional expenses; and the loss of time that might have permitted resale of reserved space.  Cancellation for all or any part of the trip will not be effective until they are received in writing in the office of CCE.  Cancellation received after confirmation of booking and up to 90 days before departure, is subject to a $300 per person cancellation fee. No refunds will be given for cancellation within 90 days of departure.

 

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance must be purchased for the entire program. If the student already has a medical insurance policy in place, please make sure the coverage is applicable in China.  A copy of Travel Insurance must be submitted to CCE along with final payment.

 

Liabilities Clause:  Chinese Cultural Exchange, LLC (CCE) and the sponsoring organization act only as agent for the passenger with respect to travel services.  We assumes no responsibility or liability in whole or in part for any injury, damage, loss, delays, delayed or changed departure or arrival, missed carrier connection, weather, strikes, acts of God, circumstances beyond our control, war, quarantine, criminal activity, expense, accident, sickness, injury or death to person or property, or mechanical defect, failure or negligence of any nature howsoever caused in connection with any accommodations, restaurant, transportation or other services or for any substitutions of hotels, or of common carrier equipment beyond our control, with or without notice, or for any additional expenses occasioned thereby. If due to weather, flight schedules or other uncontrollable factors you are required to spend an additional night, you will be responsible for your own hotel, transfers and meal costs.  No refund will be made for any unused portion of the tour due to these causes or voluntary cancellations, Baggage and personal effects are the sole responsibility of the participant at all times.  The right is reserved to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of these tours at any time.  CCE reserves the right to change the itinerary of the tour without prior notice.  CCE shall not be liable for any loss whatsoever to passengers by reason of such cancellation, substitution or changes.   If the tour is cancelled by CCE for any reason, CCE shall have no liability beyond the refund of all tour participants’ deposits received by it.  CCE may increase the tour price in the event of cost increases.  The airline tickets when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the air company concerned and the purchaser of these tours and/or passenger.  The carriers are not responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time tour participants are not aboard their conveyance.  Any litigation concerning this tour must be brought in the State of Connecticut.  Upon payment of a deposit, tour participants indicate acceptance of the above terms and conditions.

 

Rules: All participants must abide by the rules and regulations. Also, all Chinese laws apply to students. Be aware that those laws may carry much harsher penalties than US law. In particular, no alcohol or illegal drug use or possession will be tolerated at any time. Program director or group leader may terminate any participation due to conduct s/he deems inappropriate. Terminated student will be sent home at the student’s expense. Any legal fees incurred by a student will be at the student’s expense. CCE will not be responsible for obtaining a student’s release from jail.

 

Emergency Medical Authorization: Should student become ill, injured or require emergency or other medical treatment, including hospitalization and/or surgery, during the trip, student and parent hereby request, authorize and give full permission and consent to the CCE parties to act on each of student’s and parent’s behalf and in their stead and also to contact parent and student’s emergency contact and discuss the nature of student illness or injury with such parties. 

 

Use of photos and comments:  By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you agree that CCE and our partner organizations may use any photo, or still or moving image which we or someone on our behalf takes of any member of your Travel Group; or any comments (written or verbal) you make during or in connection with your booking for our promotional/ marketing purposes (such as including them in our brochure /website) without obtaining any further specific permission or making any payment to any such person.
